This past February Weebly shut down my blog. I had started it in 2009. Everything was going really well. I had written a substantial amount of blog posts. So, you can imagine how I felt when I logged into my Weebly account and I couldn't access it. I frantically contacted Weebly. They reopened it. I was elated. However, this happened several times. Each time it happened they said it was a mistake and it wouldn't happen again. Finally, the last time they told me that they would not be reopening my blog because it was deemed as one of those free money making sites. Anyone could clearly see that my site had lots of quality content. I had spent lots of time on my blog. I did have quite a few advertisements which I had planned to take down anyway if Weebly would have given me the chance. I was furious as anyone would be. I almost lost all of my hard work If it wasn't for me adding my blog to this one blog directory (which I will be writing about in a next blog post). I would of lost everything. Weebly did give me some of my pages back but none of my blog posts. I am a blogger/affiliate marketer I did have some affiliate links in my blog post but it wasn't used overly too much. There were not affiliate links in every blog post that I wrote. I would of thought that Weebly would know what an affiliate marketer was as they have their own affiliate program.

I thought it was very unprofessional of Weebly just to shut down my blog like that and not even give me a heads up or allow me to make the necessary adjustments. When I had contacted Weebly they told me to read their TOS rules. In them they basically said that you can't refer any companies that you will be using an referral link and they basically ruled out all network marketing companies.  I felt that was very harsh, because all network marketing companies are not scam and all companies who have a referral link are not scam either. To me, they basically have limited their clientele. It makes it very hard for you to write about anything on your blog especially if you are a network or affiliate marketer. I have seen sites that don't have quality content and they only have advertisements but my blog was not one of them.  My plan was to move to wordpress, but since I had started my blog on Weebly and I liked them. I was planning just to upgrade with them. Boy, would I have been furious if they would of shut down my blog and I was paying! Anyone could clearly see that my blog was not a spam blog as I had written a blog post on what a spam blog was and how to avoid writing one.

Some people look down on using free sites, but I don't because many free sites do allow you to upgrade. Thus, given you the opportunity to have a professional looking site. Many people start out free and than they choose to upgrade later on. Weebly not only lost out on a great blogger:) but future money as well. I don't write this blog post to be vindictive as I really liked Weebly but I think people need to know what could happen to them if they choose to use their blogging service. What I went through with Weebly I wouldn't wish on anyone else. The frustration and continual writing of emails to them about my situation was nonetheless a constant headache. It practically drove me crazy to have to check my blog everyday just to make sure they hadn't shut it down. Which in the long run they did anyway. Well, I've moved on and I must say I am a lot happier and my nerves are much better. So, if you are doing affiliate or network marketing I suggest you do not use Weebly as your blog platform of choice. At least I have given you the heads up that Weebly never gave me.

I have been writing for a website called review stream. So far I have written 3 reviews. They will buy your reviews for $3.55  this. However, the price chart refreshes automatically. I am waiting for my 4th review to be approved. When you write your review make sure it is descriptive but also very opinionated. They really want to know what you think about the product or service that you review. If you would like to be paid $3.55 for your review make sure that you do not put a check in the bulk rate box. If you do you will be paid bulk rate. Bulk rate is the regular rate divided by 5. If the regular rate is $5.00 the bulk rate will be $1.00 Even if you don't click the bulk rate box they still may not accept your review. If they don't accept it for $3.55 you can submit it again and they may purchase it for $1.00.

If you are submitting a review for a particular store or shop make sure you put the location in the location address. Before you submit your review make sure that you don't have any grammatical errors, because they might not accept it if it does. The more people vote on your reviews the more you get paid. You may not republish your reviews that you write for reviewstream on your blog, but they give you a block that you can place on your website or blog so people can read your reviews. However, you don't have to have a website or blog to write reviews for reviewstream.

Reviewstream pays you using paypal and you have to have $50.00 in your account to cash out. All in all I think that reviewstream is a good website. Even if you don't want to write reviews you can go to the site and read the reviews that other people have written. You may find them helpful before you make your next purchase for a particular product Reviewstream is just another way you can make some extra money online.

Are you thinking about starting your own business? How about doing network or internet marketing? Have you told a few people and they were negative. Have you heard comments like these: "Oh everything on the internet is a scam" or "No one really makes money on the internet" or "The only real way to make money is to have a job". These comments are very negative, and when some people hear them they get very discouraged.

Do not tell everyone your dreams. Neither will everyone be supportive of you or encouraging if you are doing something out of the ordinary. Many people are followers. If everyone isn't doing it than they aren't about to try it. Only tell people that you think will be helpful to you.

Many times when you are just starting out it takes a lot of confidence and self-motivation to keep you going, because in the beginning you will be making little or no money at all. There will be many days that you might even doubt yourself. So, you have to surround yourself with people that are supportive and will be encouraging to you. Also, there maybe people to discourage so that they can steal your ideas. That's another reason to not tell everyone what you are going to be doing. It's really none of their business.

Let people think what they want to think. Is it easy? No, its definitely not, because in general people like to know what you are doing. If they ask. You can just say that you are working on something, and you don't have to go into the details. Things happen for people at different times. Don't feel the need to explain why you haven't done something. That is just a pitfall for a pity party. You don't have anything to feel bad about. Some people love to hear drama. It's what their lives evolve around. So, don't give them anything to gossip about. This isn't just about making money. It can be anything that you want to do. I always say if you want to know information about something look it up. We are living in the information times. Everything is practically right at our fingertips. There's no reason for people to be ignorant these days. If they are it's because they want to be. Many people love to live in the dark. In reality you know who you're real friends are, and if you really aren't sure you will find out. So, whatever you have planned keep on working on it. Don't stop. Who cares what people think. You don't have to put all your business in the streets. Successful people rarely make their plans known to the world.

If you are in the blogging world you no doubt know about Wordpress. It's one of the most talked about and recommended blogging platforms, because it has so many features. I also think that it is a good blogging platform. The software is free, but you have to pay for hosting. It's not a lot of money, but if you are in debt (such as myself) you still might find that you don't want an extra bill to pay. So, I am using Ucoz. I have used Blogger, Weebly, and Blinkweb in the past. Blogger and Weebly shutdown my blogs. They had an epiphany that my blogs were spam blogs which was not the case. (You can read about my experience with Weebly in a later blog post) Blinkweb had some issues and I contacted support about them and they never solved the issues. Also, it is for a beginner and I wanted more features and they didn't have them. Blinkweb has other business tools such as a sales page and website.  If you want to get online quick you might find the sales page or website useful. However, I wasn't impressed with the blogging platform. Which is the service I used.  I felt that they needed to do some upgrading. I don't know if they will or not but I couldn't stay around and wait for them. Also, the site would be down and my blog/site wouldn't be displaying. Which I found to be very unprofessional.

I had did some searching because I was looking for another home for my blog. I had looked at Ucoz, but I didn't look at it thoroughly. One of my favorite blog authors Lynn Terry did a blog post about them. After, I read her blog post I decided to take another look at them. I liked what I saw so I immediately started moving my blog over to them. You can build a website for free and they also give you the option of upgrading. If you would like to do that later on. You can also get a domain name too. So, you have all the makings for a professional looking site! Their customer service is absolutely excellent! Ucoz is for the novice as well as the newbie. Whether you know html or don't you can still utilize this website/blog service. I am loving it! So far so good! It's something for everyone! You can really make your blog/site your own! I was able to use Disqus commenting system which I wasn't able to use with Weebly or Blinkweb because they didn't allow you to edit the blogging templates. (Weebly only allows you to edit the website template)

There are many blogging platforms you can use. You can do an online search and find one that will fit you.
I know sometimes things can be tight financially, but you don't have to let that stop you from blogging. If you want to have a professional looking site that allows you to get a site up quick and gives you a lot of control. I highly recommend Ucoz.

I know there is so much you can be worried about online. I know sometimes it can worry people because they hear so many things online and they really don't know which direction to take. The direction to take is what works best for you right now. Stop worrying and start blogging. You'll blog much better too! That is exactly what I did!

Have you ever visited a website or seen an offer on t.v. and decided to investigate, because they were offering something that was free? Only to find out that what they were offering really wasn't free. I once joined a program, because they said it was free, but once I joined I couldn't hardly use the site, because you had to pay to use the majority of the features. It wasn't like they said that you could only use certain features for free, and than you have to upgrade. I was very disappointed. Had they just explained that in the beginning I could of saved myself a lot of time by not even joining. It was really of no use to join. Another time I joined a program and company said it was free, but the only thing free was to make an account. Everything else you had to pay for. I just think that is false advertising, because in reality it isn't free.

I'm like if it's not free it's not free just say so. Don't lie and say that it is. I don't mind even if a company says that only certain features or free, but you have to upgrade to get additional features. That's fine with me, but just say that. Don't lie and say it's free and when people join they can't use any of the features for free. I don't know about you , but that's false advertising in my book. I wouldn't want to join a business or program that doesn't tell the truth up front. Maybe they think once they get you to join that you will take the next step. I don't think so. (not me anyway)If some of the features for a program are free, and I like them. I certainly will upgrade. I have no problem with doing so at all, but to be lied too. Maybe they don't consider it lying, but it certainly isn't telling the truth. That's for sure. What do you think? Have you signed up for a program only to find out it wasn't free?

Do you promote your business anywhere or everywhere even at inappropriate times? Are you constantly telling people about your business no matter where you are or what the occassion is? Do you rudely interrupt people's conversations just so you can tell them about your business. Do you post a comment on other blogs about your business and leave a link no matter what the topic is about? Congratulations you are a bonafide shameless marketer!

The quicker you realize that's what you are than you can get this problem solved the fastest. It's so annoying but you see people all over the internet that have this problem. You might be asking yourself. What is the difference between a shameless marketer and a spammer? Even though they have many common denominators. A spammer is mostly online. They just constantly flood message boards with the same message over and over again usually about their business or whatever they are promoting.

However, a shameless marketer can be online and offline. Someone who inappropriately promotes their business and do crazy things in the process. Many people don't even realize they are shameless marketer's, or if they do they won't admit to it. I think when someone emails you about writing a guest post on your blog, and they know that they won't be writing about your particular subject than that constitutes as being a shameless marketer. Why would you want to mess up the flow of someone else's  blog just so you can get hits back to your website or blog? You might say,"Why are you writing a post about shameless marketer's?" Because I think it is important for people to know that these tactics are shameless and rude. It's time to start promoting in a better way.

Everyone isn't interested in hearing about your business, and even if they might of been you will turn them away by constantly pestering them about it. It's a better way to get people to know about your business and it doesn't consist of being rude and selfish. If you want to tell people about your business be engaging and not a pest. People don't like pests. Everyone hates shameless marketing tactics and you should too!

Don't get me wrong I like to add widgets to my site too. They really make your website stand out, and they come in all shapes, sizes and colors. However, if you have too many on your website it can slow your website down, also it can make it cluttered. It is easy to get addicted to adding them to your site, because I have had to talk myself out of putting up a couple more. It's nothing wrong with adding them but just make sure that they are aiding your site and not crippling it. Here are a few tips on how to pick the right ones for your site:

  • Make sure the widget has something to do with your site or it's topic. If it doesn't than you may want to reconsider adding it.
  • Make sure it is the right size too. You wouldn't want it to be too big or too small for your website. Test out the different sizes to make sure you are choosing the right size.
  • Make sure you choose the right color for your website. If your website is green you want to reconsider the color purple for your widget.
  • Make sure the widget is an asset for your website and not a hindrance. What are the benefits of having this widget on your website?
  • Decide where you will be adding the widget. Will it be on your sidebar or on a particular page on your website?
  • Decide what kind of widget will it be. Will it be one that moves or stands still or is a popup? This is just to make sure you don't have too much going on your website.
  • Do you really need another widget? Or you just adding it too feed your addiction of widgets?

With the economy like it is everyone should be thinking about multiple streams of income. Perhaps you already have that's why you have been reading this blog. No job is secure these days. It's best to have your camel tied. I'm not against going to college, but I don't think going to college facilitates your success in life, because you can be trained to do any job. In fact, you have to undergo training the majority of time before you start a job, even if you have been to college. Often times, many people don't even end up working in the field that they went to college for.

It's best to have more than one way to make money. The internet is a great way to do this. There are many things that you can do to make money online. Many times people fail because they assume that you don't have to do anything to make money online. That is so far from the truth. I don't know where that idea came from, because even when you work a job you have to do something that's why it's called work. It's essential these days to have multiple streams of income. Whether you are selling something for a company, freelance work, blogging, etc. It is absolutely a must these days. You can ask yourself what you like to do or what you are good at. That will put you in the direction of what you can look into doing. I know sometimes people don't even give things a chance. They just write it off without even checking it out. If it can help you make some extra money at least look into it. Don't be so narrow minded. How will you know it won't work if you haven't looked at it or tried it? Probably because the majority of people only think that a job is the only way you can make money.

It's not if you don't already know. I'm not telling you to quit your job if you have one, but I'm saying be looking to other ways to make income as well. You may even get to the point that you can quit your job.If you already are doing other things to make money. That's great! Keep on doing it and don't stop. Even if it's not going the way you want. The tide will eventually turn, because it always does. If it's fear of what people are going to say. Don't tell them, because it's none of their business anyway. If it's laziness get off the couch and start looking. If it's procrastination just do it! You can start by reading this blog if you aren't already. May we all be prosperous!

Self-improvement or personal growth is something that will be part of our lives forever. This is something that everyone needs. If we make the effort, we can and will improve ourselves. It's easy to stay the way that we have always been, however, negative it may be, but it takes a lot of courage to make the changes that we know we need to make. No one can decide to do this for us. We have to do this for ourselves.

One of my favorite books that really helped me is, "The Magic Of Thinking Big" by David Schwartz. It really helped me overcome a lot of obstacles which I felt were keeping me down. I was very shy. A lot of the techniques he advised were very helpful. It's still one of my all-time favorite self-development books. It helped me to overcome my shyness of dealing with people (not being able to ask questions and being able to state my opinion). Anyone knows that if you are trying to promote any kind of business you have to be able to tell people about it. One of the techniques he advised was just to ask the question. What can the person do to you? That really helped me.

It is not easy to feel positive all the time. One day you might be feeling great and the next day you might not be feeling so great. It is like a flower. You have to keep watering it so it will grow. It really helps to apply what you are learning too. Take one thing at a time. No matter how small you might think it is. For instance, it could be something that you want to stop doing like drinking pop. First write that goal down then, proceed not to do it. You will be surprised at the results, because once we put our mind to it nothing can stand in our way. It's really that simple.

Once you start your journey to self-improvement there will be many people who will try to get in your way. Why? Because they do not want to see you improve. If you change who will listen to all of their problems or keep you being involved in a bunch of foolishness. That's why making these changes is so important.

If we can master ourselves we can master anything. Whether it is business, health related or simply just being better human beings. It's really worth the time into developing yourself. Is it easy? It might not be in the beginning but it gets easier as you go along. If you make up your mind to do it then, it can be done. You will want to check out the,"Successful Self-Improvement Tips" page. It has many tips that will guide you on your journey to self-improvement. This page will cause you to think in a whole new way. We all need help sometimes and it's nothing wrong with that. We can help and encourage each other. Let's have a toast! (I have a bottle of welch's sparkly grape juice) To being the best that we can possibly be in anything and everything that we set out to do!
